Karen received her B.S. with Honors from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1972. She has established and staffed three design offices since that time. She founded Sugar Associates, LLC in 1991 and is responsible for marketing, quality of design and the daily operations of the company.

Samona M. Spickler, Office Manager, Project Support

Sam will be receiving her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 2005. She is responsible for all day-to-day business activities of the firm as well as contributing substantially to project support.

Charlene C. Williams, PE, Staff Designer, Project Support

Charlene received her Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Summa Cum Laude from University of Delaware in 1994, was her High School Valedictorian and is working on a Masters Degree in Engineering Management at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Experienced with structural design and cost analysis of buildings, Charlene brings practical knowledge to the team and the ability to organize, schedule, phase and coordinate. A marathon runner and consummate team player, she brings perfection to the table from another specialty.
